|New Kid On The Block
Once in a while I get lucky and am rewarded by seeing the newborn babies of nature. For me it has been extremely rare to see a baby raccoon. While in a tree stand in Pennsylvania, I heard baby squeals from a nearby tree. My eyes became fixed on a big hole in a dead sugar maple when mother and baby appeared. In the first few days of its life, the baby raccoon has watery blue eyes. After that short time, they turn to jet black like mom's.
